An insatiable inventor of forms

François Huon lives and works in Rebecq, Belgium and since 2000 has been Professor in Experimental Practice at Braine-l’Alleud School of Art (near Waterloo) He has exhibited extensively in belgium and has several permanent site-specific works in public buildings.

François Huon (1964) is an insatiable inventor of forms. He has developed a simple method that allows him to continue creating without ever falling short of new structures. A somewhat careful look  gives the viewer a way into Huon’s work and then it’s the pleasure of constant discovery. His system allows him to work in two and three dimensions - with paint, in large and small formats, on the wall, with volumes, on the floor, in colour or in black and white - in a very rigorous and constructed way or in a playful manner…: the variants are endless.
Huon has been elaborating this process for several years and he does not confine himself to creating a superficial plastic game, he shows us that everything varies, mutates, can be interpreted and organized;  what seems like chaos can be a form of order and nothing  is definitely fixed. The world revolves, surprises and changes.

Claude Lorent, 2003,  Art critic for La Libre Belgique (traduction Ch. Gist)
